Approach by car.
From the north, you can reach Spiez from Bern via the A6 motorway. Here the cantonal road branches off towards Kandersteg. After the easy and speedy loading of your car onto the railway at the car transport in Kandersteg, you can drive through the Lötschberg tunnel in just 15 minutes and arrive comfortably in Goppenstein. Please note the special timetable during the construction phase in the Lötschberg tunnel.

Coming from the south, take the Rhone Valley motorway from Lausanne or the cantonal road from Brig to Gampel/Steg. From Steg and Goppenstein the well-maintained road leads directly into the Lötschental. The road is also easily passable in winter. Winter equipment is required for the months November to April.
Arrival by public transport.
The Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon north-south axis takes you safely and comfortably to Goppenstein station every hour from Bern or Brig. In Goppenstein you have access to the post bus into the Lötschental. The journey from Goppenstein to Fafleralp takes about 25 minutes.
