The remoteness of the Lötschental is the source of many myths. Wild creatures have hunted through the valley since time immemorial - they have left their mark on tradition and customs. This is how the "Tschägättä" came into being: masked, impetuous creatures that still do their mischief every year on Fasnacht evenings and are firmly linked to the valley.
